Slater SUMMER Fun!!!

Top 10 reasons I love Summer:

10. Kids are out of school.
9. Snow Shack raspberry and grape shaved ice.
8.The sun comes up early.
7.The sound of rain-bird sprinklers late at night.
6.Beautiful Flowers.
5.Sitting & talking around a camp fire.
4.Parades & Fireworks.
3.Kids swimming in the pool in the backyard.
2.Celebrating the 4th of July.
1.Going on Vacation's with my family.

If you can't tell, I love summer. So I want to share just a few pictures of what we did this summer.

During Lehi Round-Up (Lehi's town celebration, if you didn't know) After the parade we took the girls to the city park where they have face painting, bounce toys, pony rides, petting zoo, balloon animals & you can even watch a talent show. We have gone the last 3 years and even Jon has a good time.
Jon's parents spent another summer at Heber Valley Girls Camp. And we got a chance to go visit. When we went up this summer, Sydney was staying with us so she came along.
Annie, Laynie, Ellie and Syd.

My favorite place in the whole world to go camping is Rock Creek--we go every year with my family.

Truck load of Cousins.
Ellie caught the first fish.
When we go to Rock Creek the kids love to play in the river.

This summer we went to Yellowstone. We had so much fun I loved every minute I can't wait to go back.

I think this is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Jenny Lake with the view of the Teton Mountains.

Ellie's 9 and Jon is the BIG 40!!!

Since this year has been declared the "Year of the Cakes." Ellie got to choose what cake she wanted me to make for her birthday. She asked for a Peace cake, I was happy because I was pretty sure I could pull it off. She LOVED it! So it makes it worth it.
All Ellie wanted for her birthday was a pair of roller skates. Not the skates that look like shoes with wheels. She wanted the kind like I had when I was little. The kind with the white boots. I was actually excited because that is what I wanted her to have. Who knew that you can't go down to the nearest sporting good's store and buy a pair of boot roller skates. Anyway after a lot of searching on-line and waiting 5 to 7 business days. Ellie finally got the best birthday present ever. When you live on a hill it makes it a little hard for someone to learn to roller skate. So our neighbor up the street has a very flat basketball court in their back yard. They told Ellie she could use it when ever she wanted to. And I must say she is getting very good.

Like I said earlier this is the "Year of the Cakes". So for Ellie's friend birthday party. She wanted a "Cake Boss Party". So we made little cakes and the kid's got to decorate them any way they wanted. And this is how they all turned out. Personally I think they are great, they had so much fun. And surprisingly so did I.

So this is the year Jon turned the big 40. So we had all of the family over for a big party. And I surprised him with a Minnesota Twins baseball cake. (His Favorite baseball team.) He was a good sport to let me take a picture of him with the cake. Everyone else has a picture with their cake so I didn't want to leave him out.

Laynie's 3!!!

Laynie birthday was in July. I thought it was about time I updated our blog. My Niece took some really cute pictures of Laynie for her 3rd birthday. The day we took these pictures it was over a 100 degrees so we were all a little cranky. I'm so happy with how they turned out, here are a few of my favorites.

Laynie loves giraffes. She has a stuffed giraffe she named BANANAS (were not sure where she came up with that name). For her birthday she wanted me to make her a "Bananas" cake. So I made this cake for her. I found out that after I made this cake that I really like to make and decorate cakes.

Annie's 13th Birthday !, "Let's Go ROCKIES!" & The Denver Zoo

For Annie's birthday I made her a cake shaped like a watermelon. It was my first attempt, so it took a little longer than I planned. I was really happy with how it turned out and Annie loved it.
Annie wanted to have a party with some of her friends. We decorated with streamers and twinkle lights downstairs. They ate TONS of pizza & candy and watched a movie. We didn't see them all night. She had so much fun she said it was the best birthday ever.
For Memorial weekend we went to Colorado to see the Rockies play. Jon has gone the past few years, but this year we went with him. We had so much fun. The girls were so excited to see Denver. The second we walked into Coor's Field, Annie became a instant Rockies fan. She has started watching the games on TV with Jon and she has learned a lot about baseball. (Jon is so proud) I was a little worried that the girls would get bored during the game, but they loved everything about it and never complained once. They can't wait to go back.

The next day we let the girls choose what they wanted to do. They chose the Zoo. The only Zoo they have every been to is Hogle Zoo, so it was fun to see something new. It's quite a bit bigger than the Zoo here, so we saw all kind of different animals. Laynie has fallen in love with giraffe's when we left we bought the girls stuffed animals she pick the giraffe and named him 'Bananas'.

All in all, the trip was a big success. It was a new and different adventure and we all had a great time.

Laynie's A Big Girl Now!!!

She did it! Laynie's potty trained. I can't believe how fast she is growing up, it makes me sad. But I do have to say I won't miss the diapers. She just decided she wanted to be a big girl and wear panties like her sisters. I'm not saying we didn't have a few accidents here and there but I can say we have no more diapers in our house. To some people this might not be a big deal but to us it's HUGE! YEAH LAYNIE!!!!!!

A few weeks ago I took Laynie to get her first hair cut, I thought her hair was so cute that I went and had her pictures taken. It was a lot of fun and she did great. These are just a few of my favorites.

Major Blog Catch Up. Halloween 2009

Wow! Where does the time go? I can't believe that it has been 5 months since I updated our blog. So I wanted to start where I left off. I'm not the biggest fan of Halloween but the girls love it and I thought their costumes were great.

Annie dressed up for a Halloween party! A Last minutes costume.
Ellie was the Bride of Frankenstien. Her hair is so awesome it was fun to do.

Laynie loves NEMO. She wanted to wear it all the time.

Jon's mom is amazing she can sew anything. When Annie was little I asked her if she could make Annie's costume. It's one of my favorite Halloween costumes ever, so I had all three of the girls wear it. I knew that this was the last year Laynie could fit into the pumpkin so she wore the pumpkin on Halloween day and NEMO at night.
